Job Summary
As a Workday Payroll Technical Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing complex payroll functions and calculations to support H&R Block's payroll requirements. We operate in all 50 states, bringing added complexity and compliance obligations. You will ensure payroll systems, including WD Payroll, UKG Dimensions Timekeeping, and NICE Incentive Compensation systems are configured to support company policies and applicable Federal, State, Local payroll laws. Prefer a Kansas City based candidate but this position is also open to US based remote candidates.
Job Duties
- Configure and maintain Workday Payroll in collaboration with People & Culture (HR) teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert for payroll-related projects
- Support Payroll processing team by troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues
- Develop and maintain Payroll, Timekeeping and Compensation related integrations.
- Analyze new Workday Payroll features and perform testing in support of R1 and R2 product releases.
- Participate in other project/support tasks as a squad member of a broader Corporate Systems IT organization: Recruiting/Onboarding, Core HR, Talent, Benefits, Learning, and Reporting functions.
What You'll Bring To The Team...
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
Work Experience:
- 3+ years experience as a business systems analyst and/or project manager in an information technology environment
- 2 plus years experience with Workday Payroll or equivalent system experience
- Strong self-management skills including, organization, time management and prioritization
- Practical experience with process documentation tools and methods
- Proven application of quality assurance techniques and protocols
- Prior experience with technology implementations
- Ability to prioritize rapidly shifting priorities and workloads.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills.
- Commitment to self development, acquiring and mastering new technology skills
- Knowledge of relational database concepts
- Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle
- Exposure to client/server and/or web development
- Experience using software applications such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio

- Experience using business and system process and remodeling tools
- Formal training conducting facilitated sessions
- Applications development experience
Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.
Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
