Role Description
Joining the Human Resources team at CoStar Group, you will contribute to the creation of a highly successful, fast-paced, growth-oriented, global organization. As Principal Workday Lead, this role will be responsible for all aspects of HRIS including product management, end-to-end solution design, business process configuration, solution review, deployment, and providing day-to-day technology support to the Human Resources and other internal teams. This role will also be responsible for participating in any future planning and development activities, including roadmap planning, system upgrades, and the implementation of additional applications and functionality. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work across different teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This role will report directly to the Director of HR Technology within the Human Resources organization at CoStar Group.
This position is located in Washington, DC and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities
- Evolve Workday governance models, drive release management best practices adoption, and foster robust support, and change management processes.
- Collaborate with third-party partners and vendors to evaluate new features, capabilities, and functionality within the Workday ecosystem.
- Lead optimization of Workday system day-to-day operations, including tenant management, configuration management, security, release management, and change management.
- Stay current with Workday releases and updates, evaluating new features and capabilities for potential adoption.
- Lead planning and execution of Workday projects including business requirement gathering, functional and technical design, system configuration and changes, and security optimization.
- Design, manage, and audit the security architecture within Workday that supports data privacy and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline existing processes and implement robust scalable solutions.
- Apply change management principles to facilitate the adoption of new or improved processes and/or capabilities.
- Establish processes/controls to maintain data integrity for critical fields feeding into external systems.
- Manage Workday inbound and outbound integrations with external and internal partner systems.
- Serve as a liaison between HR and other functions that use Workday as the system of record.
- Coach power users on Workday functionality and ensure they are leveraging Workday optimally.
- Work on HR Technology projects with a broad scope and involving multiple technologies.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM.
- In-depth knowledge of Workday products and services with high proficiency in at least 5 Workday modules (HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Benefits, Payroll, Security, Extend, PRISM).
- Exposure and understanding of compliance including SOX as it relates to the HR Technology function.
- Leadership in managing and executing test plans; with demonstrated ability to plan, prepare, and execute testing activities such as user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Cross-functional knowledge of HR processes and touch points in HCM, payroll, benefits, recruiting, training, and talent.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, with the ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders, engineers, and support teams.
- Experience in data integration and data governance practices, and familiarity with relevant data protection and privacy regulations.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes and technologies.
- Understanding of enterprise SaaS solutions and cloud computing.
- Experience with Agile Scrum delivery methodology.

- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative while also working collaboratively with others in a team environment.

- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.

This position offers a base salary range of $144,200 - $238,200, based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
