The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the functionality of systems used for recording, reporting, and analyzing financial transactions are leveraged to their fullest extent. The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will also assist in validating the accuracy and integrity of insurance policy, claims and billing data utilized in the financial reporting process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administration of Workday for the Finance organization, including making updates to the Foundation Data Model (FDM), configuration of financial modules and maintenance of related Business Processes.
- With input from accounting, maintain and create new allocations with the intent of accelerating the monthly close process and streamlining external financial reporting.
- Working with financial planning & analysis, develop Workday reporting to facilitate standard and ad hoc internal financial reporting.
- Along with actuarial reserving, develop and refine an automated solution for recording held reserves at regular cadences throughout the year.
- Coordinate with Workday Engineer (IT) and HRIS Analyst (HCM) to ensure best practices and manage change processes within our shared Workday environments.
- Ensure complete and timely review of Bi-Annual Workday release features and coordinate regression testing for financial scenarios.
- Actively monitor new functionality and financial systems to recommend process changes that increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively across the organization and with external vendors to investigate and resolve data errors and identify opportunities to improve data integrity.
- Monitor the development of insurance policy administration and financial system solutions and upgrades to existing systems procedures as required; perform quality testing/user acceptance testing and documents procedures.
- Provide information and assistance as required by external auditors to enable them to complete financial statement audits.
- Special projects as assigned.
Education, Experience, Competencies & Values
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with major coursework in accounting, finance, and/or systems. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience performing the essential functions of position within the property & casualty insurance industry, required.
- Accounting or financial reporting background as well as experience as an administrator of financial modules within Workday.
- Experience with Workday is required.
- Exposure to Adaptive Insights, Blackline, and Kainos Smart Testing is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Highly motivated with ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Familiarity with Azure DevOps (or similar project management tools) a plus.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise and meaningful way.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency in preparing work.

The base salary range for this role is $81,000 - $109,600. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications and education.
