Our client is an owner and operator of a growing portfolio of more than 30,000 single-family rental homes in the U.S. Sun Belt region. The firm has significant financial backing and is growing its portfolio and headcount at a rapid pace.
Job Description
The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting our residential development platform’s growth through financial modeling, investment analysis, and strategic acquisitions, as well as supporting our sustainability program. Key responsibilities include conducting financial analyses for existing and new investments, preparing detailed investment presentations, contributing to the research and analysis of new acquisitions and key sustainability initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, will demonstrate strong financial acumen, effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel:
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Execute financial modeling and data analysis to support acquisitions, market research, asset/portfolio management, and sustainability initiatives
- Investment Presentations: Support the creation and delivery of thoughtful and detail-oriented investment materials, working with internal and external parties to synthesize information into investment proposals, project reforecasts, market studies, and recommendations on various investment or sustainability initiatives
- Investment Management: Assist in the investment management and reporting for the firm's US residential development portfolio by creating and updating management reports, identifying variances to project plans, and crafting insightful commentary/recommendations
- Budgeting & Reforecasting: Contribute to the detailed budgeting and reforecasting of the firm's build-to-rent business line by leveraging available data to justify operating assumptions and update complex financial models
- Acquisitions: Support the screening, underwriting, and execution of new build-to-rent communities or other real estate or sustainability investments
- Sustainability: Develop a scalable sustainability data management system, create and track KPIs, and drive sustainability efforts through analysis, summary document preparation, and reporting
- Market & Economic Insights: Track and analyze market and economic trends to inform investment strategies and business decisions
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with asset management, development, an reporting teams to gather information and achieve business goals

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications for the typical candidate to be successful in the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or real estate with very strong performance preferred
- 1-3 years of work or internship experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, or real estate investments / asset management
- Inherent sense of curiosity and a drive to seek out knowledge.
- Strong business acumen and organizational leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including patience, flexibility, consideration, discretion, tact, confidence, and effectiveness in dealing with people
