Summary
The primary role of the Information Services Business Intelligence Developer is to assist all levels of staff in analyzing healthcare related data and to produce, interpret and validate reports and analyses as requested. This person will generate reports and scorecards from a number of information systems and make recommendations based on statistical analysis. In addition, the Business Intelligence Developer will assist departmental users in determining the information necessary to satisfy specific business requirements, and must be able to communicate and provide assistance to all hospital associates as it relates to the decision support system, serving as a consultant to committees requiring expertise with decision support solutions. The Business Intelligence Developer will also assist in the development of an enterprise data repository making information available to support the hospital's critical planning management and decision making activities. Additionally, Business Intelligence Developers work as a team and must participate in code review and quality assurance projects to ensure good data quality.
Project domains will include: SQL Development, Data Munging, R/Python/C# Programming, Working in the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Stack, Clinical and Financial Data Analysis, Automation
Experience/Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Information Technology, or quantitative field (or equivalent experience) preferred
- 2-3 years of experience with data or financial analysis. Healthcare setting preferred
- Programming experience (prefer Python, C#, R)
- Web Development Framework knowledge a plus
- Understanding of relational databases fundamentals
- SQL proficiency
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with git preferred
License Or Certification Requirements
- EPIC Clarity Data Model Certifications expected within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Manage report request queue for assigned reporting domains and produce timely and high quality reports
- Maintain expertise with the following reporting tools and development environments:
- SQL Server Management Studio
- Visual Studio or Report Builder
- SQL Server Reporting Services
- RMC Extract Management
- SQL Server Analysis Services
- Microsoft Excel
- Manage Engine
- Git and Gitlab
- Actively Participate in team Code Review process.
- Provide clear and concise comments and documentation for authored reports.
- Assist in the maintenance and testing of RMC report library.
- Act as liaison with end users to document issues, problems, problem analysis, and resolutions.
- Assist in the strategic planning of Analytics initiatives, including new deployments, future needs, systems integration, and growth of decision support applications.
- Work with vendors to develop custom data extracts and manage automated data exchange.
