Our client is looking for a
100% REMOTE Workday Certified, Payroll Expert to join their team on a
temporary basis to assist through a system implementation.
The ideal candidate will bring significant implementation experience to help manage
parallel testing for a critical payroll system migration. The candidate will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure the Workday system is fully tested and ready to go live by January 1, 2025.
Duties:
- Lead Parallel Testing: Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to conduct parallel testing, ensuring the Workday Payroll system processes payroll correctly and matches results from the legacy system.
- Validate Payroll Functionality: Ensure accurate calculations for federal, state, and local taxes, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related components within Workday.
- Address Testing Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies between the new system's output and the current payroll system.
- Ensure Compliance: Verify that payroll calculations comply with all applicable tax laws and payroll regulations.
- Provide Expertise: Share expertise on Workday payroll best practices, including pre-tax/post-tax calculations, benefits administration, and system configurations.
- Collaboration: Work with internal teams (including IT, HR, and Finance) to ensure smooth testing and integration with the broader Workday implementation.
Requirements:
- Certified in Workday Payroll: Must have Workday Payroll certification with hands-on experience in implementing payroll solutions.
- Experience with Parallel Testing: Demonstrated experience running and managing parallel testing for payroll systems, particularly in Workday.
- In-Depth Knowledge of Payroll Calculations: Expertise in federal, state, and local tax calculations, as well as benefits calculations (pre-tax, post-tax, state tax exceptions).
- Advanced Excel Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, including the ability to manage large datasets and perform detailed analyses.
- Payroll Implementation Experience: Solid experience working on payroll system implementations, ensuring data migration, testing, and configurations are handled correctly.
- Canadian Payroll Experience (Optional): Experience with Canadian payroll is a plus but not required.
