What You’ll Do

Your Impact

As the MetroWest Regional Education Manager, you will be a catalyst for inspiration and learning, engaging diverse audiences in the rich cultural tapestry of our four renowned museums and historic properties. You’ll lead innovative educational programming that sparks curiosity and fosters a love of learning, making history, art, and agriculture come alive for visitors of all ages. Your leadership will shape the educational landscape, creating lasting connections between the community and our heritage.

The Role

In this dynamic position, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Regional Engagement Manager and the regional Vice President to craft and operationalize a vibrant educational strategy for the MetroWest region.

Specifically, You’ll

Innovative Program Development: Design and implement engaging tours, field trips, and experiential learning opportunities across the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Fruitlands Museum, the Old Manse, and Powisset Farm.
Leadership and Training: Manage and inspire a talented team of tour guides, interpreters, camp directors, and seasonal educators, ensuring they deliver exceptional educational experiences.
Community Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for schools, educational tour companies, and community organizations, fostering strong partnerships and expanding our outreach.
Curriculum Design: Create curriculum that is inclusive to Indigenous perspectives and adapts to the diverse needs of our audiences, ensuring all programming aligns with our strategic educational goals.

This is a full-time, exempt position (40 hours/week) reporting directly to the Senior Regional Engagement Manager.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience, with 4-5 years in a supervisory role, ideally in educational programming within a museum or historic property.
Passion for Education: A proven track record of developing engaging programs that ignite imaginations and foster lifelong learning.
Collaborative Spirit: A natural leader with a knack for building motivated teams and working collaboratively across departments.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with a sense of humor and a calm demeanor, especially in high-pressure situations.
Commitment to Diversity: A love for working with learners from diverse backgrounds and a dedication to inclusivity in educational offerings.
